Why South Africa? Why Cape Town?
It all started when I was a kid, around 1994 when Nelson Mandela became president and I was 10 years old. My father talked about this, I remember. Nelson Mandela seemed like a hell of a guy :) I just decided that I really wanted to go to South Africa. It's something with apartheid that interested me and also the fact that South Africa is on the other side of this planet. Close to the south pole and here I am, in Sweden, actually close to the north pole. I've always been interested in Africa as a continent, because it is, for sure, different from here, in a LOT of ways. I just wanted to see HOW different.
Then, a lot of years later, at 2007 I started to study social work and during the practicals I wanted to go abroad. The choice was easy...
My first time in Cape Town was january - april 2008 and now I've been there four times..
What made me fall in love in this city? I tell you next time...
